About Natalie

Natalie Spinelli is a contemporary artist, illustrator, and designer based in Leesburg, Virginia. Working primarily in acrylic and oil, her paintings explore the intersection of nature, memory, and human connection through expressive botanical abstraction and figurative elements.

She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Traditional Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, with minors in Art History and Graphic Design. Her multidisciplinary background has shaped a practice rooted in strong composition, color, and visual storytelling while allowing her work to evolve beyond illustration into contemporary fine art.

Over the past two decades, Spinelli has created artwork across a wide range of disciplines, including illustration, branding, children's books, murals, and commissioned paintings. Her work has appeared in editorial publications, permanent installations, galleries, and commercial spaces throughout the United States.

Today, her fine art practice reflects a deep reverence for the natural world. Painting from memory and lived experience rather than direct reference, she creates layered botanical environments that invite viewers to slow down, reconnect with nature, and consider the quiet relationships between people, plants, and place.
